What Bahá'ís Believe

Building Vibrant Communities

We are a community of diverse individuals committed to the unity of mankind.  In a deeply unsettled age, we recognize the need for a unified vision of oneness, equality and justice. Bahá’u’lláh provides a compelling vision of a better world and lays out the principles essential to fulfilling it. Working together with our friends and neighbours, we serve our communities and apply the teachings of Baha'u'llah to our lives. We eagerly participate in meaningful discourses about the social and material well-being of all people. We are working with an ever-widening circle of people to realize Bahá’u’lláh’s vision for society.

He Who is your Lord, the All-Merciful, cherisheth in His heart the desire of beholding the entire human race as one soul and one body.

We reflect on the beautiful and diverse nature of our communities in Greater Victoria, including indigenous peoples, first-generation immigrants, refugees, and multi-generational Canadians. We recognize that the elimination of all forms of prejudice from our relationships — whether based on race, religion, gender, social class, or ethnicity— is essential to building vibrant communities together. We can create a pattern of community life that promotes the prosperity and well-being of the whole community.  We believe that the transformation of society relies on balanced relationships between the individual, the community and institutions.
